At DL Bernard Bespoke Joinery, each creation begins in his rural workshop nestled among the stunning Correzien Countryside. The calm beauty of this landscape inspires a distinctive approach to his craftsmanship, one rooted in authenticity, simplicity and respect for natural materials.
Lee has a passion for working with all types of wood and manufactures all aspects of internal and external joinery, this has been his motivation to create custom-made furniture, kitchens, staircases and fine wooden accessories, DL Bernard works primarily with locally sourced timber. Every piece reflects not only the quality of the wood, but also the spirit of the region: honest, warm and enduring.
Who is DL Bernard?
David Lee Bernard – DL Bernard Bespoke Joinery – is a master craftsman and artisanal bespoke joiner based in The Corréze, France. Lee brought his family from the U.K. and settled in The Corréze and has lived in France for over 20 years.
Lee’s mastery of working with wood is fostered from a lifelong immersion into the possibilities of creating unique furniture, staircases, kitchen accessories and natural wood planches, from all types of wood.
Lee’s work is recognisable immediately. From the sublime design to the top-level craftsmanship, to the exquisite finish and the intelligent use of materials and the blend of traditional hand tool usage and the application of modern technology to manipulate and coax the beauty contained within his chosen material.
DL Bernard Bespoke Joinery has a refined and evocative woodwork honours the trees from which his pieces originate. He is a true craftsman with a deep respect for the natural world upon which his craft relies.
